Terry Balazs is the Director of the Office of Technology, Services, and Innovation (TSI). TSI manages radio and TV program transmission, information technology, agency infrastructure, and other technical functions supporting USAGM networks.
Balazs joined U.S. International Broadcasting in 1982 and has worked in a number of areas including engineering strategic planning, program analysis, and budgeting. He joined the Senior Executive Service in 2011 as TSI Deputy Director for Engineering and Transmission.
Balazs entered U.S. Government service in 1972 working for the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare on experimental communication satellite programs providing educational and health services to remote areas. He also served in the Department of Commerce and in the Executive Office of the President, where he worked on domestic and international information programs for the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs of the Office of Management of Budget.
Balazs received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He also earned a Master of Science and a professional degree of Engineer from Stanford University.
