BBG Welcomes New OCB Director García-Pérez
Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG) Chairman Walter Isaacson and BBG Governor Victor Ashe welcomed Carlos García-Pérez as the newly appointed director of the Office of Cuba Broadcasting (OCB) on Wednesday, October 20, at a transition ceremony OCB headquarters in Miami.
“[Carlos] has a passion and commitment to both the United States and to the notion of a free Cuba, and I know that the OCB will benefit from his extraordinary acumen,” said Isaacson.
The event for OCB staff along with Board members and special guest Richard M. Lobo, Director of the International Broadcasting Bureau, also honored outgoing OCB Director Pedro Roig, who is retiring from his role after seven and a half years.
After the ceremony, BBG Governors Isaacson and Ashe toured OCB’s broadcasting facilities and talked with Radio and TV Martí staff about program and technical developments.
