Avanza Cuba: Big Help for Small Business


Miami – Radio and TV Martí’s popular series Avanza Cuba (Cuba Forward) returns on Wednesday, February 8 with a special program aimed at helping small business owners market their businesses in Cuba. Avanza Cuba: El Que Anuncia Vende, (Cuba Forward: Advertising Sells) will connect Cuban small business owners with marketing specialists, business owners and other experts from the U.S., Europe and Latin America.
The following participants are scheduled to join the program:

“Avanza Cuba is a radio-TV series engaging Cubans across the globe in a fresh and relevant dialogue that goes beyond the usual topics of U.S.-Cuban relations,” said Carlos García Pérez, Director of Radio and TV Martí, “An important part of the conversation is focused on changes underway on the island.”
The first program, Avanza Cuba: Las Redes Sociales y El Futuro De la Isla (Cuba Forward: Social Media and the Future of the Island) assembled a veritable all-star team of Cuban bloggers with international bloggers and students at Baruch College in New York. Discussion centered on how technology and social media are changing Cuban society as well as Cubans’ international connections.
Hosted by journalist Karen Caballero Avanza Cuba will air live on Radio Marti (1180 AM /Shortwave Radio) TV Marti (Hispasat, Channel 13 VHF, Channel 20 UHF) and stream live on the web at martinoticias.com on Wednesday, February 8 at 11 am Eastern.
The Martis, based in Miami, Florida are operated by the Office of Cuba Broadcasting, part of the independent U.S. government agency, the Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG).
