Syrian Journalists Visit Alhurra

A group of nine Syrian journalists from different media outlets toured Alhurra Television’s newsroom, control rooms and studios and met with journalists and senior staff. Alhurra’s journalists talked to the Syrian visitors about their day-to-day work. They discussed the technology and software Alhurra uses to produce the daily newscasts. They also discussed the freedom atmosphere that Alhurra’s journalists enjoy, which allows them to report objectively and neutrally.
After touring the newsroom and Alhurra premises, Daniel Nassif, MBN Vice President of Network News, met with the Syrian journalists and discussed the state of journalism in the Arab world in light of Arab Spring. Nassif responded to the journalists’ questions explaining how Alhurra’s newsroom works, focusing on the importance of broadcasting accurate news and information.
The Syrian journalists were invited to the United States under the auspices of the Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program.
