BBG Hosts Transparency International Corruption Report Release

Today the Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG) hosted Transparency International and the Transparency International USA chapter as they presented the findings of 2012 Corruption Perception Index.
“After a year of focus on corruption, we expect governments to take a tougher stance against the abuse of power,” said Huguette Labelle, the Chair of Transparency International.
BBG broadcast regions include many of the countries ranked low on the 2012 Corruption Perception Index. Azerbaijan, where earlier this year Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reporter Khadija Ismailova was persecuted for exposing government corruption, ranked 139 out of 174 on the list.
