BBG Releases 2012 Annual Report
The Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG) today released its 2012 Annual Report detailing the agency’s many initiatives and its continued progress in providing objective news and analysis via multiple platforms, including broadcast and digital media to audiences worldwide.
According to Freedom House’s Freedom of the Press 2013 report, press freedom has fallen to its lowest level in over a decade. It is in this environment that the work of BBG and its broadcasters (Voice of America, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, the Office of Cuba Broadcasting, Radio Free Asia, and the Middle East Broadcasting Networks) is more critical than ever as we strive to inform, engage and connect people around the world in support of freedom and democracy. Throughout this report you will find details of how this was accomplished in more than 100 countries and in 61 languages.
