Board to meet to examine its activities in Asia
WASHINGTON – The Broadcasting Board of Governors will meet on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at its headquarters in Washington, D.C. In addition to board business, the Board will receive an in-depth review of the operations and activities of Radio Free Asia in the past year.
The Board will also honor the 55th anniversary of Voice of America’s French to Africa Service, the 55th anniversary of VOA’s Spanish Service and the 1st anniversary of Current Time, the joint production of VOA and Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty. The Board will also introduce Maria “Malule” González, the new Director of the Office of Cuba Broadcasting and will honor the hard work and dedication of her predecessor, Carlos A. Garcia-Pérez.
The public may attend any or all of these sessions in person by registering here by 12:00 p.m. on December 15. The meeting will also be streamed live on the BBG website, www.bbg.gov.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 9:15 a.m. Additional information, including any updates or adjustments to its starting time, will be posted on the BBG website. Minutes, documents and a video recording will be available after the meeting concludes.
