Cuban government responds to water shortage after citizens call Radio Martí
Radio Martí has long been reporting on a drinkable water shortage that has affected residents in the town of Boca de Jaruco in Mayabeque Province, Cuba. Many listeners aired complaints about the situation to Martí and said they had been trying for weeks to get the government to resolve the problem. Radio Martí learned from one caller to its “Cuba al Dia” program that the government started providing potable water to affected residents due to the complaints that aired and because the residents sent a letter to government officials citing their concerns.
