Alhurra documents the success of Egyptian women in season two of Sit B’Mit Ragel
Springfield, VA — Alhurra Television’s program Sit B’Mit Ragel (Arabic for ‘A Lady is Worth 100 Men’), launches its second season on Saturday, October 1 at 10 p.m. (Cairo time). The program focuses on successful Egyptian women who work relentlessly to achieve their goals and prove that a lady can be worth 100 men. It tells the inspiring stories of four women making their dreams come true despite the odds, and sheds light on the obstacles they face throughout their journey.
“We are very excited about the launch of season two of Sit B’Mit Ragel. The success of season one led us to bring more stories of Egyptian entrepreneurial women who are determined on overcoming all challenges to reach their goals,” stated Brian Conniff, President of Middle East Broadcasting Networks (MBN). MBN manages and oversees Alhurra. “Alhurra has always been the leading channel in the Middle East that focuses on female empowerment and their role in building societies.”
Sit B’Mit Ragel follows:
- Yara is Egypt’s only female rally racer in a male — dominated sport. Her love for cars started at an early age and she is passionate about “challenging herself and nature” as she races through the desert. She is a single mother who is getting ready to marry her fiancé.
- Marie is a fashion designer, entrepreneur, philanthropist and the vice president of Bishara Fashion Group. In addition to owning clothing factories and her own fashion line, Marie is launching a new line targeting youth. She also has a charity that helps rehabilitate street children.
- Anosa is Egypt’s youngest and most popular female lion trainer. She is referred to as the “lion princess” and was born into a well renowned circus family who have mastered this profession since the 19th century. Her desire is to “revolutionize” the old circus traditions in the Middle East and reach European standards.
- Hadeer is an entrepreneur who started working at age nine after losing her father. She founded “Ebra w Resha” (Arabic for Needle and Thread), a small company which produces beanbags. Her dream is to overcome poverty for good and become very successful.
