On November 18, 2014, the BBG and AIDF organized and funded a media training session to strengthen journalists’ coverage of disaster zones. Nearly 100 journalists participated in the training. Participants learned how to use social media effectively in disaster relief, utilizing partnerships with private sector companies and how to better engage communities and the local government. The training was extremely helpful in that it coincided with AIDF’s Disaster Relief Summit, which took place two days after, and focused on the best practices in logistics and transport, innovation in water security, and ICT solutions for disaster relief.
