Sen. Marco Rubio visits OCB
In his first visit to the Office of Cuba Broadcasting (OCB), Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) spoke directly to the Cuban people in an interview with Radio and TV Martí. The interview was distributed to OCB’s audience of one million across all its broadcast and digital platforms.
Senator Rubio stressed the right of Cubans to access information without censorship and expressed his support for the Cuban people in their pursuit for freedom. “We are very pleased with Senator Rubio’s first visit to Radio & Television Martí”, said OCB Director Tomás P. Regalado, “I am very excited with the Senator’s interest in our operation and goals and especially for his support to our mission.”
The Cuban-American Senator, who chairs the Subcommittee On Western Hemisphere, Transnational Crime, Civilian Security, Democracy, Human Rights, And Global Women’s Issues, also spoke about the crises in Nicaragua and Venezuela and underscored the Trump administration’s policies towards Cuba.
The Office of Cuba Broadcasting oversees Radio and Television Martí at its headquarters in Miami, Florida. The Martís are a multimedia hub of news, information and analysis that provide the people of Cuba with interactive programs seven days a week through satellite television and shortwave and AM radio, as well as through flash drives, emails, DVDs, and SMS text.
