New Leadership At Current Time TV
Washington, D.C. — Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) announces the appointment of Pavel Butorin as Acting Director of Current Time, the 24/7 TV and digital network for Russian-speakers led by RFE/RL in cooperation with Voice of America.
Butorin has been with RFE/RL since 2001, first as an audio-video producer for the Central News and Multimedia teams, then as Senior Producer and Managing Editor for Current Time TV since the project’s inception as a 30-minute television news program in 2014. As managing editor, Butorin has been instrumental in Current Time’s rapid growth and transformation, in February 2017, into a successful 24/7 television channel. A graduate of Nizhny Novgorod State Linguistic University who has also earned a Master’s degree in Mass Communications from Ohio University, Butorin worked in web development and communications in Russia, the U.S., and the Czech Republic prior to joining RFE/RL.
With his appointment as acting director of Current Time, Butorin replaces Daisy Sindelar, who was appointed Acting President of RFE/RL, Inc., effective December 7.
