Arab-Americans share their stories on Alhurra TV

Washington, D.C. — Alhurra Television highlights the journey of Arab-Americans in U.S. on the new 11 part limited series My Story. The weekly series profiles Arab-Americans who left their homeland to start a better life in the U.S., offering viewers first-hand accounts of the challenges and triumphs they faced as they left their family and friends behind to seek opportunities in a new country that offered them refuge and opportunity from a turbulent Middle East.
“Through programs like My Story, Alhurra provides viewers in the region a deeper insight into America and the American people. This series focuses the stories of these courageous people who came to the U.S. and create a better life for themselves in a land that is truly free,” stated Middle East Broadcasting Networks (MBN) President Amb. Alberto Fernandez. MBN manages and oversees Alhurra Television. “My Story shares the rich cross-section of American life in all its splendor and reality with Arabic-speaking audiences and demonstrates storytelling at its finest.”
The program highlights Arab-Americans in a variety of fields including in the world of business, the arts, civic leaders and scientists. Each person brings their unique story to screen and shares it with the viewers. My Story debuts on Alhurra on Monday, Aug. 26th.
The Middle East Broadcasting Networks is a non-profit corporation is financed by the U.S. Government through a grant from USAGM. MBN operates Alhurra Television, an Arabic-language television network that broadcasts to 22 countries in the Middle East and North Africa via satellite, as well as Alhurra-Iraq Television. MBN also operates Sawa, radio and its two dedicated streams, one to Iraq and the other to the Levant. It is available via FM throughout these two areas and provides more than 15 hours of news and information daily on each stream.About MBN
