On June 25 and July, 2022, the USAGM Office of Training started a series of training on journalism at Equatorial Guinea National University (UNGE). The initiative marked the first program between Equatorial Guinea and USAGM.
This training, called “Editorial Trends,” focused on media evolution, understanding the target audience, the strategy of creating compelling content, and strategic programming for new audiences. More than 40 journalism students and professors participated enthusiastically in a two-day session taught by Regional Marketing Officer Iscar Blanco.
The two-hour classes ended with a brainstorming session on creating newscasts, news program proposals, and ideas about documentaries.
