Journalists from radio, television and print media across Kyrgyzstan dived into interactive training on digital-first journalism, why it matters both for journalists and audiences, and how leading newsrooms around the world are shifting their strategy to be digital-first. Trainees mastered use of new media tools for storytelling on the social media platforms, learned about news gathering in the digital era and online tools that help journalists monitor social media trends (Hootsuite, CrowdTangle, Tweetdeck), the ways journalists can engage with their audiences using both corporate and private accounts – with case study examples from Current Time Digital. Journalists also worked in teams to produce effective and impactful video content for distribution on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
