Sawa launches an array of dynamic new podcasts

Springfield, Va. — Sawa debuted four new Arabic-language podcasts that explore topics such as mental health, technology, sports, and politics. These podcasts are the latest iteration in the Middle East Broadcasting Networks’ (MBN) evolution to a digital-first media organization. The new podcasts include:
- Mirrors–A weekly podcast that raises awareness about mental health and wellness. The podcast aims to move past the stigma surrounding mental health and make it something that is discussed openly and without judgment. “Mirrors” mixes personal experiences with scientific research and subject matter experts. It shows people they are not alone and that others understand what they are dealing with and can help.
- More Than a Game-This weekly podcast goes beyond the latest sports scores and delves into the stories behind them. Listeners get caught up in a dramatic retelling of stories that shaped the sports world and learn how sports impact all areas of society, culture, and even politics.
- Angles– This podcast focuses on one news event to help listeners make sense of events happening around the world. Through expert guests and those impacted by the events, the podcast investigates the roots of a story and how it developed to provide listeners with different perspectives on the topic. “Angles” will start as a weekly podcast and increase to daily in the coming months.
- Innovations– A weekly podcast that explores medical, technological, and scientific advancements in the U.S. and around the world. It shows how large and small breakthroughs are used in everyday life around the world.
“We are proud to expand MBN’s audio options with these entertaining and insightful podcasts. They each tackle issues that are of interest to younger listeners and present them in a way that will provide new perspectives on the issue they cover,” stated MBN Acting President Hassan Shwiki.
The podcasts are available on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, Soundcloud and radiosawa.com. Soon audiences will also be able to access them on a new Sawa smartphone app.
