The Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey (FEVS), conducted by the Office of Personnel Management, is a tool that measures employees’ perceptions of whether, and to what extent, conditions characterizing successful organizations are present in their agencies. Survey results provide valuable insight into the challenges agency leaders face in ensuring the federal government has an effective civilian workforce and how well they are responding.
2018 survey results
Each year USAGM analyzes the results of the annual survey and set goals for workforce engagement and satisfaction efforts. The survey provides an opportunity for us to build upon our achievements and develop new strategies for our challenges. In the 2018 survey USAGM continued its upward trend with a 3 percent average increase across all indicators, compared to a government-wide average of 1 percent, and positive gains in 56 of the 71 core survey components. Some of the more notable increases are in training, performance management, and employee recognition—areas where USAGM leadership have directly addressed issues and reinforced progress. As we continue to process the data, we are focusing on particular indices and particular workgroups looking to continue improving workforce engagement in the coming year.
