Alhurra Television’s Street Pulse won the CINE Special Jury award for the best investigative report from 2013, it was announced today. The documentary/magazine program was honored in the “Televised News Division—Investigative Reporting” category for its gripping episode addressing the dangers of working in the Egyptian quarries located in El Minya. The Street Pulse episode showed how adults and child laborers risk serious injury or death from rock cutting machines, respiratory ailments from stone dust, and intense heat in order to support their families.
