Alhurra-Iraq Journalists Wounded in Mosul
Correspondent Abdulhamid Zebari and assistant cameraman Yasser Salim were embedded with Iraq Antiterrorism Forces when they came under fire.
Zebari and Salim were on the front lines covering Iraqi forces fight against ISIS in Alfaisili area of Mosul when the attack occurred. Both men were hit by shrapnel and are currently being cared for at a local hospital.
“Abdulhamid and Yasser are dedicated and brave journalists who fearlessly covered the fight for Mosul, providing the latest updates to viewers across Iraq and the entire Middle East,” stated MBN President Brian Conniff. MBN manages and oversees Alhurra-Iraq Television.
A cameraman, who was working with the pair at the time of the attack, was not injured.
Since the battle for Mosul started in Oct. 2016, Alhurra-Iraq journalists have been embedded with Iraqi and Peshmerga troops bringing viewers the latest news from the front lines.
