Kazakh Service reporter intimidated by local police
In Kazakhstan, Kazakh Service reporter Dilara Issa was visited by a police officer on November 4, who claimed that he wanted “to be sure that everything was okay with her.” RFE/RL considers this to be an overt case of police monitoring/intimidation of Ms. Issa; in the week prior to the police visit, files mysteriously disappeared from her personal computer at home.
