A prominent RFE/RL stringer and blogger in Crimea was summoned for questioning by the FSB in Simferopol in connection with his reporting, some of which was published on RFE/RL’s Crimea.Realities website. Days before on September 18, the correspondent was accused in a taunting article published in the newspaper of the Crimean parliament of not being able to accept Crimea’s annexation by Russia because he works for Western money. Along with several other RFE/RL correspondents and independent journalists, the article also named RFE/RL’s Crimean desk chief, who has been approached by the FSB repeatedly in recent months.
